In 2008 the animals on farm in Winton, Southland are a true testament to genetic investment and management success.
Breeding the best with the best for 28 years has seen huge leaps in
production performance and none better than the example of Mayfield's top sires notably "4PLAY". This bull was New Zealand's Supreme Velvet
Champion last year cutting a whooping 21.35 kg. We also have emerging sires from Mayfield's best cows that just about make your eyes water!
"Mayfield Magic"(sire 4PLAY) and "Uwonder" (sire Stevie Wonder) are superb examples. You won't forget the names and you'll see why over the next few years. Previous sale bulls are also performing really well off the property and that is the best test of any stud. We sold Paul Waller a 3 yr bull last season and he cut a stunning head of 14kgs @ 4 yrs and that was after a mating season with 60 cows. Brian Kenton purchased "Mayfield" from us a couple sales back and that boy cut 18kgs this year.
