Our focus is on trophy and velvet. Farming about 250 hinds on a small 115ha effective block in Kaikoura. All deer fully recorded since 1983, and using AI as a way of improving our genetics. We are now breeding some of NZ's top trophy and velvet stags.

We began deer farming in Te Anau in 1983, and started recording the hinds then. We began AI to improve genetics in 1989 and as the deer numbers grew we had 900 hinds, with 400 fully recorded. Our move to Kaikoura in 2003, to basically a large life style block, concentrated our hind base to 250 hinds calving. Still using AI to introduce new bloodlines, in conjunction with our own bred sires.
Over recent years we have had industry sucesses in National Hard Antler and Velvet competitions.
