Semen was obtained from a wide range of top red stags, thus allowing us to evaluate their performance within our herd. We have used English Park, Furzeland, German and Eastern. From this wide selection we were able to identify the top performers. This selection has enabled us to make rapid progress. All animals must start with good temperaments! then we carefully build on this - velvet, trophy and growth rates (venison). The big spin off from this is that many animals are versatile and excel in all aspects. This is what makes Arawata stags and hinds stand out and perform.
